Journeyman Service Technician

Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Journeyman HVAC Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing heating/cooling systems in residential settings. This role requires a deep understanding of HVAC systems, strong technical skills, and the ability to explain thoroughly to customers.

Responsibilities: 

-Perform routine maintenance on HVAC systems to ensure they are operating efficiently and safely.

-Diagnose and repair HVAC system issues promptly and effectively.

-Troubleshoot problems with HVAC systems and develop solutions to address them.

-Conduct regular inspections of HVAC systems to identify potential issues and prevent breakdowns.

-Provide technical guidance and support to junior technicians as needed.

-Keep accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed on HVAC systems.

-Stay up-to-date on advancements in HVAC technology and industry best practices.

-Ensure compliance with all relevant safety and environmental regulations.

-Communicate effectively with customers to explain the scope of work and answer any questions they may have.

Requirements: 

-High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical school training preferred.

-KY Journeyman License at least 3 years of experience working in residential HVAC maintenance and repair.

-Proven ability to diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC system issues.

-Strong understanding of HVAC principles, equipment, and components.

-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

-Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

-Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

-Physical ability to lift heavy equipment and work in confined spaces.

-Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

-EPA 608 certification.

-NATE certification.

-Experience with a variety of HVAC systems, including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, geothermals and boilers.

-Leadership experience or demonstrated ability to mentor junior technicians.
